Coming Soon - GH3 Cage Accessories
Fhugen has a few new accessories developed for their Honu GH3 Cage. We will be carrying these accessories soon so make sure you sign up with our P&C Newsletter >> to be notified of the release!
"The handle will feature multiple ¼-20 threaded and pass through holes casted out of aluminum. Yeah we pulled a mold for this bad boy, it was costly but to get the features we need it was the only way to go. The base of the handle has a hot shoe assembly that can be easily attached and removed from the cage. More about this assembly will be released in the future, we can’t spill all of the beans right now.
The HDMI clamp is a custom design that is machined out of aluminum. The design accommodates a wide of variety HDMI cords sizes and is very simple to use. Once again we will be providing more details in the near future."

I have one of these cages arriving this week, and hope the hdmi lock will be available soon. I am also curious to see what will be offered for rail mounting and a top handle.
Regarding the GH3 battery grip, even though the GH3 battery lasts a long time, the battery grip comes in handy for time lapse photography.

I see the comment about the “small gap” between the VF-4 and the GH3 when mounted on this cage. Can you provide an image that shows this? I’d like to evaluate this gap issue to determine if I could modify the VF-4 to seal the gap. Maybe adding gaffer tape to extend the reach of the rubber seal would close the gap?
I’m interested in this cage, especially at the current price ($99.99), but need to know more about the issue with the VF-4.
Any idea when the hdmi lock will be available, and the cost?
Will P&C offer a “bundle” price for the cage with hdmi lock and top handle?

@Clive - I know that Fhugen is currently working on other cage projects but they may consider this option for later.
@Labalbi - We have tried testing the VF-4 with the Honu GH3 cage, but unfortunately it doesn’t work. There is a small gap between the GH3 screen and the VF-4 so it doesn’t completely keep the light out.

I use the Carryspeed VF-4 with my GH3. I cant see how I will be able to use it with this cage. Is that possible ?

It’s great. I will be using it with a GH2, even though i knew that the battery access would be a problem and it is, I was wondering if you plan to make an optional replacement lower plate so it fits a GH2 battery access?

The cage can work similar to the camera body itself. You can mount the entire cage to any existing rail system directly to a baseplate. So if you currently own a shoulder rig, the entire cage can be placed directly to the shoulder rig.

Once the camera is mounted inside of the cage, it does not need to be removed. You can store the entire cage in a bag.

How will I mount 15mm rails to the underside of the cage?

Everything looks good , accept for one problem. How will we mount a quick release plate in the cage?
Unless my eyes are deceiving me, it appears that there is no space to mount a quick release plate to get the camera in and out of there fast?

(@James) For the Canon 5D Mark III, it works perfectly in the P&C GearBox. Or in the Kamerar Tank Cage.
